Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the prostate gland, which is part of the male reproductive system. It usually grows slowly and initially remains confined to the prostate gland, but in some cases, it can be aggressive and spread to other parts of the body. Symptoms may include difficulty urinating, blood in the urine or semen, erectile dysfunction, and discomfort in the pelvic area. Early detection through regular prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing and digital rectal exams is key. Treatment options depend on the stage and include surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy.
